Shanghai's Pudong New Area invited global investors and talent to embrace opportunities and create a win-win future together at the Promotion Conference on High-Level Opening-Up of Pudong and Building Pudong into a Pioneer Area for Socialist Modernization on Nov 6 during the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The event focused on Pudong's ambitious plans to lead in socialist modernization and enhance its global openness. 

Prominent speakers included Li Zheng, Party secretary of Pudong, and Wu Jincheng, government head of Pudong.

Pudong is recognized as a crucial gateway for China's integration with the world and a model of Chinese-style modernization. "Choosing Pudong means embracing opportunities in China and global cooperation," Li said. 

He noted the progress Pudong has made over the past five years, following its designation as a pioneer area for socialist modernization. Under the city's leadership, Pudong has strengthened its global ties, fostered mutual benefits, and created new international business opportunities.

Li highlighted Pudong's alignment with international trade standards and its business-friendly environment. The area is committed to helping companies expand globally through initiatives like the "go global" strategy and integrated service centers. Pudong is also fostering innovation by supporting young talent and entrepreneurship through a series of favorable policies and a complete service system.

Wu emphasized Pudong's appeal in three aspects: openness, innovation, and culture. He described Pudong as an ideal destination for global investors, focusing on the free movement of resources and creating a welcoming environment for international business. 

As a hub of innovation, Pudong is advancing in technology and providing robust support for businesses. Culturally, Pudong offers high-quality public services and a vibrant lifestyle for residents and visitors.

Representatives from companies such as Honeywell and Fourier shared their success stories, highlighting Pudong's dynamic environment and industrial potential. Honeywell discussed its growth from a local base to a national powerhouse, while Fourier reflected on its decade-long journey and the support it received in Pudong.
