Shanghai’s Pudong New Area held the "In Pudong, Towards A Shared Future" 2024 Talent Spring Concert at the Oriental Art Center on the evening of Feb 22.

Pudong has established a tradition of hosting a Spring Concert tailored to talent from various fields during the Lunar New Year, presenting the "most beautiful music" as a gift to the "brightest minds". The event has become a signature for Pudong, conveying the area's high regard for talent.

The event received over 1,800 guests, including local officials, 14 academicians from home and abroad, national and municipal talent title winners, talent from Pudong's Pearl Plan, as well as representatives and family members in various industries such as technology, finance, shipping, legal services, education, and healthcare, all of whom gathered to enjoy the beauty of music together.

The concert was performed by the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Associate Professor Zhao Xiao’ou of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The audience was treated to a magnificent repertoire including the orchestral piece Spring Festival Overture, the suona (a double-reed woodwind instrument) concerto Hundreds of Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix, the song I Love You, China, and selected excerpts from the opera Drinking Song. Some talent representatives also took to the stage, participating in certain segments and singing My Motherland and Me in unison.

For over 30 years, Pudong has consistently adhered to the principle of "assembling the best minds and drawing fully on their expertise", with waves of outstanding talent from home and abroad coming to Pudong, integrating into the area, establishing themselves, and realizing their dreams.

As a key area for the construction of a high-level talent hub in Shanghai, Pudong is vigorously working to become a pioneer area for international talent development.
