Shanghai IC park to add 360,000-sq-m complex

The 2B-6 project of Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park was recently officially initiated by Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park Development Co Ltd.

According to the plan, the project is expected to be completed in 2026. It will occupy 43,500 square meters and has an overall floorage of 360,000 sq m. The project also boasts 150,000 sq m of office space, 25,000 sq m of hotel space and 50,000 sq m for commercial facilities. The project borders 2B-5 public green land to the north, Shengxia Road to the west, Yindong Road to the south and Zhangdong Road to the east.

The project enjoys a favorable traffic location as it is in the northeast of Zhangjiang Science City and next to the planned extended section of subway Line 13. It takes 25 minutes to Shanghai Pudong International Airport and less than 40 minutes to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai Railway Station, and Shanghainan Railway Station.

The project was designed to provide an innovative ecology community where experts and talents gather to make scientific and technological innovations. Its overall spatial arrangement includes eight parts from west to east such as the Pandora Garden, a square and an atrium.

The project will integrate diverse space and building functions. In line with its sustainable concept, it is designed to be an energetic eco-activity center that contains diverse green elements. The project was designed based on the principle of security, efficiency, convenience and flexibility and is intended to arrange the circulation of commerce, people, traffic and freight in a reasonable way. The center square is expected to provide an energetic and diverse public space for people.

The project is located in Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park, which was honored as one of the first batch of characteristic parks in Shanghai in 2020. With a planning area of 400,000 square kilometers, the park is an iconic project along the “development belt of the golden center” in Pudong New District. It is also the only characteristic park that focuses on integrated circuit design in Shanghai.

By June of 2022, Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park attracted 246 design enterprises, 24 equipment material enterprises, eight closed beta test enterprises and 10 industrial service enterprises. The siphonic effect of the full industry chain is strengthening in the area, which is why an increasing number of “unicorn” and “leader” enterprises of subdivisions choose to settle in the park.

According to the latest plan, Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park will not only focus on the integrated circuit industry, but also plans to upgrade the industry chain with fields such as future cars, the industrial internet, 6G and aerospace. By 2025, the park is expected to generate an output of 100 billion yuan ($14.6 billion) and attract 100,000 talented personnel.
